Managing & Recruiting

STUDENT INTERNS AND VOLUNTEERS

As the Social Media Manager of a new nonprofit, I was tasked with recruiting and managing interns and volunteers. I have successfully recruited, interviewed, and supervised 10 student interns/volunteers and counting. Five of them have gained college credit for their internship from Texas State University, The University of Texas, and Berklee School of Music. â€‹

Beginning

I create and distribute job descriptions, review resumes, and pass along the qualified applicants to their appropriate project supervisors. From there I check availability and schedule interviews.  

Duration

Once an intern/volunteer is hired I provide them with the appropriate onboarding collateral and schedule a walkthrough.

I schedule and lead a weekly mandatory meeting to assign tasks and answer questions they may have. I am also the main point of contact for the school for learning contracts, hour requirements, and evaluations.

Completion

Once the internship is complete, the individuals will receive college credit and have developed valuable professional tools. Such as communication, professional correspondence, time management, and more.
